Theresa L. Houghton

Theresa Lillian Houghton, age 87, of West Palm Beach, Florida passed away surrounded by family on September 24, 2025. Mrs. Houghton, the oldest of five, was born in Lewiston, Maine, on March 16, 1938, to Alberta and Antonio Casavant. She was a bank teller, floral designer and most importantly a loving mother and contributor to the communities she was part of. Terry will be reunited with the love of her life, Gene, whom adored her for over 61 years; their four children, Maureen, Eugene (Kathleen, wife), Eileen, and Kathy (Victor, husband); their ten grandchildren; Shannon (Nazar, husband), Brendan (Darby, wife), Nicole (John, husband), Dennis (Tess, wife), Alicia (Evan, husband), Conor (Shannon, wife), Erin, Kerri, Logan, and Brice; and their six greatgrandchildren; Luka, Charlotte, Mirabelle, James, Isla and Teagan. Theresa, Terry, Mom, Nana, Nanny Terry, Aunt Terry, Mrs. Houghton was a loving influence in so many extraordinary way to those who were blessed to know her. She, as well as the special dinners, apple pies, and Irish soda bread he lovingly prepared with his wife Terry, will be missed dearly by many family members and friends.

Terry found and spread love in and through the little things, whether it was walking through arboretums or tending to her our garden, brewing her special sweet iced tea, baking breads or apple pie to share with family or those needing comfort she did it with a welcoming warm smile and a twinkle of love in her beautiful brown eyes. She was an inspiration to all those she encountered, a reflection of God’s grace, compassion and love. Terry was a living example of love through the simple things; she taught her family to always appreciate God’s beauty in nature.

Please join Terry’s family in a Celebration of Her Life from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Friday, September 26, 2025 at Tillman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2170 South Military Trail, West Palm Beach. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Jude Okeke at 12:00 PM on Saturday, September 27, 2025 at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, 345 South Military Trail, West Palm Beach. Terry will be laid to rest with her beloved husband, Gene at 1:30 PM on Monday, September 29, 2025 at South Florida National Cemetery, 6501 South State Road 7, Lake Worth, Florida. Please assemble in lane #5 by 1:15 PM if attending services at the cemetery on Monday.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Hospice of Palm Beach County.
