Theresa DeFrank, age 94, passed away peacefully on December 14, 2025 leaving behind a legacy of love and family. Born in The Bronx, New York, Theresa built her life around home and community, values that remained constant throughout her long and well-lived years.
In 1960, Theresa moved to Smithtown, Long Island with her husband, Louis, who predeceased her. Together there they raised their family including son, Robert, and daughters Patricia and Donna, all of whom survive her. Upon moving to Smithtown, Theresa began a long association with the Suffolk County police Department, where she worked for many years. Once their children were on their own, Theresa and Louis spent their winters in West Palm Beach, Florida, jokingly referring to themselves as “snowbirds” eventually making it their permanent home in 1995.
Though 1,200 miles from Long Island, Theresa carried her passions with her - most notably her love of bingo, becoming a familiar presence at the local bingo halls, where she played faithfully three times a week.
In addition to her three children, Theresa is survived by her five grandchildren, Christopher, Joey, Jennifer, Meghan, and Deanna; her two great-grandchildren, Kennedy and Eloise, and her two sons-in-law, Michael and Mark.
Theresa will be remembered for her warm heart and generosity and her memory will live on in the lives of her family.
Theresa will be laid to rest with her beloved husband, Louis at 1:00 PM on Thursday, December 18, 2025 at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Cemetery in Royal Palm Beach, Florida.
