Sonia Cardoso Donnell

Sonia Donnell, age 93, of West Palm Beach, Florida went home to be with the Lord December 4, 2023.

Sonia was predeceased by her husband Ballard R. Donnell, her parents, Jayme and Marina Cardoso, her sister and brother-in-law, Vera and Adm. Armando Cirrincione, and son-in-law Kenneth Dowling.

She will be lovingly remembered by her children Mark Donnell (Linda), Gisele Dowling, grandchildren Heather Hartje (Jim), Matthew Donnell (Alana), Josiah Donnell (Heather), Bethany Anderson (Will), Brooke Dowling (Quentin Whitaker), Blake Dowling (Ashley), Jessica Maharrey (Dylan), great-grandchildren Taylour, Preston, Graham, Ben, Tristan, Hazel Joy, Aidan, Lily, Eleanor  and many loving nieces, nephews and friends.

A memorial service will take place at Community of Hope East Campus, 2341 South Military Trail,  West Palm Beach, Florida, April 6, 2024 at 10:00 A.M. in the fellowship hall.

Sonia was born in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. Her father was a Brazilian diplomat, which enabled her to live in Yugoslavia, Columbia, and Peru. Then, while in her early twenties, she and her family lived in Naples, Italy where she met her husband Ballard. They were married in 1953 and moved to West Palm Beach.

Sonia loved and was loved by her precious family. She was a painter, and also loved to knit, crochet and journal. She took great pride in knowing five different languages.

She will be deeply missed!
