Sharon Yoder Lapsley

June 9, 1946 — November 10, 2025

West Palm Beach, Florida

Sharon Yoder Lapsley, 79, of West Palm Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully in her sleep on November 10, 2025. She was born on June 9, 1946, in Canton, Ohio, and lived a life marked by kindness, humility, and a quiet warmth that touched everyone around her.

A gifted pianist, Sharon played throughout her life and taught lessons to students of all ages. Her patience, steadiness, and love of music made her an encouraging teacher and a comforting presence. She was an avid reader as well, happiest with a good book nearby. Sharon also adored animals—especially cats—who were a constant source of joy and companionship.

Among friends and coworkers, Sharon was known as a “ray of sunshine,” someone who brought light and kindness into the room simply by being herself.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Nola K. Yoder and Paul W. Yoder (both in 1977), and her sister, Kathy (2020).

Sharon is survived by her son, Justin Lapsley (partner, Tara DeMaio); and her daughter, Kara Pastrana (husband, Ray Pastrana), and their daughters, Adalynn and Emma—all of whom loved her dearly and will carry her gentle spirit with them.

Sharon will be remembered for her kindness, her quiet strength, her love of music and books, and the warmth she shared so generously with her family and all who knew her.

A private memorial will be held on Sunday, December 7, at 3:00 PM. For service details or to RSVP, please contact Kara at (561) 801-2319.
