Nora T. Anton Zelenko, 82, of Lantana, Florida, died peacefully surrounded by those she loved on February 23, 2024.
Nora was born and raised in Killarney, Ireland. She came to America at 15 with dreams of helping her family back in Ireland. Nora worked hard in hospitality and sales in the hotel industry. Later, alongside her husband of 28 years, Leslie Anton, Poppy, in wholesale clothing sales.
Her most outstanding quality was making everyone feel welcome and loved. She greeted each person she met as an equal. She loved hosting and entertaining friends and strangers alike. Music, love, and laughter were always guaranteed when she was present. Whether it was a quiet lunch with friends, poolside cocktail parties, or dancing the night away (sometimes a little Irish jig), you always encountered her with a warm smile, a glass of prosecco, and her sunnies!
Nora found happiness in the simplest things: her orchids in the yard, long walks with her sweet dog Maggie, a good poached egg, a long gossip session with her sister, and a good cup of tea.
She took pride in her Irish roots and her extended family. Most of all, she loved talking about her children, Martin Edward McDermott, Lisa McDermott, and Barry Anton; her grandchildren, Krista Perez, Nicole Perez, Alissa Perez, Kerry McDermott, Eric Anton, and Amy Anton, and she had a very special place in her heart for her great-grandchildren, Max, Jack, and Milo.
We are lucky enough to have memories that will never fade. In her last moments, she said, “It is time to live and have fun, take a trip, have a party.” We hope she is now at peace and able to do just that: enjoy music, laughter, love, and finally, peace. Rest in peace, Nora, you will always be loved, always be missed, and forever be remembered.
