Michael Frank Paulino

Michael Frank Paulino, 69, of Franklin Square, New York.

A lifelong resident of Franklin Square, Michael was a well-known and deeply beloved presence in his community. He owned and operated Brittnay & Company Hair Salon for more than 20 years, where his warmth, humor, generosity of spirit, and larger-than-life personality brought people together. To Michael, the salon was more than a business—it was a community. Many remember Michael seated outside the salon on his favorite bench, talking with every passerby. He had a natural gift for making people feel welcome and turning everyday moments into lifelong memories.

Above all else, Michael was devoted to his family. He was a loving father who raised his daughter, Brittnay, as a single dad. His two grandsons, Jack and Teddy, were the light of his life. They were all he talked about, and he was always proudly sharing photos of them with old friends and new friends alike. Michael was also very close with the rest of the Paulino family; his family was his strength, and he loved them deeply.

As many know, Michael was extremely devoted to the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Men’s Society in Franklin Square. He took great honor in leading the procession held each year on the evening of Our Lady of Mount Carmel’s feast day, a tradition that always held a special place in his heart. He treasured the Catholic Italian traditions that were passed down through generations. He was happy to continue that legacy.

Michael loved the beach and spending quality time in Florida. Much of his free time was spent playing cards, walking the boardwalk, and going to the racetrack with his Florida crew. Among his many loves were The Rolling Stones and The Beatles, whose music formed a lifelong soundtrack for Michael, beginning in his teenage years and remaining close to his heart throughout his life.

He will be lovingly remembered by his daughter, Brittnay; his son-in-law, John; his cherished grandsons, Jack and Teddy; and the rest of the Paulino family. He will be deeply missed by many.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Catherine of Sienna Church in Franklin Square, New York, on September 26, 2026 at 9:30 a.m.
