Mary Logan Brenan, 94, died peacefully Saturday, May 9, 2026 at home in West Palm Beach, Florida. Mary was born June 2, 1931 in Harlingen, Texas. She was predeceased by her father, Delmar West and mother, Leland West and her sons, Fredrick Michael Logan and Roger Dale Logan. Mary grew up in Charleston, West Virginia following her parents moving there in 1937. Mary attended Charleston High School and graduated Cum Laude in 1949. Her graduating class was called "The 49ers" and had many reunions throughout the years. Mary raised her four children in St. Albans, West Virginia, working at Sears Department Store, FMC Corporation and finally West Virginia Department of Employment Security. Mary graduated Summa Cum Laude from West Virginia State University in 1983 with degrees in Accounting and Economics. Mary married Malcolm Brenan in 1984, having met in Singles Square Club where they enjoyed many travels and dancing for several years. Mary retired from the West Virginia Department of Employment Security in 1988. Mary and Malcolm moved to Florida to continue enjoying square dancing, round dancing and travel in Europe, Asia, Canada and of course, the United States.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Shepler of Fort Worth, Texas and son, David Logan of Richmond, Virginia. Mary has two granddaughters, Shannon Adams of Fort Worth, Texas and Stacie Riebschlager of Windsor, Colorado as well as several great grandsons.
Our family gratefully appreciates the care provided by Trustbridge Hospice. Mary had many friends and neighbors who loved her and along with her family, will miss her dearly and are comforted that Mary is now at peace. Private cremation arrangements are under the care of Tillman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2170 South Military Trail, West Palm Beach. Inurnment will take place at South Florida National Cemetery in Lake Worth, Florida.
