Marie Maignan

Throughout her life, Marie Jose Maignan was a daughter, a devoted mother of two, the eldest of four siblings and a twin, a cherished aunt, cousin and godmother, a loyal friend and neighbor, a compassionate caregiver, and above all, a beloved child of God.

Marie was a woman of deep faith and prayer. She spent countless hours praying for her children and family, for peace, and for a better world. She cared deeply about what was happening around her, followed current events and politics closely, and held firmly to her faith throughout her life.

Marie had a beautiful combination of gentleness and strength. She was calm, kind, soft and delicate in her manner, yet she was also strong, fearless and wonderfully sassy. It was a combination that only Marie could pull off.

She loved to talk, tell stories and laugh. She enjoyed good music, and if Haitian kompa was playing, Marie was often one of the first people on the dance floor. She loved good food and spending time with family and friends. Her warmth, humor, stories and lively spirit made her presence memorable.

For many years, Marie worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant, a profession she took great pride in. Caring for others was meaningful to her. She was proud of the comfort, dignity, compassion and loving care she was able to provide to people during times when they needed it most. Her work reflected something already deeply rooted in her nature — a genuine desire to care for others.

Marie experienced many chapters throughout her life, including marriage and motherhood, but above all, her children and family remained at the center of her heart. She carried them with her and covered them in prayer throughout her life.

Marie will be remembered for her unwavering faith, quiet strength, tenderness, courage, humor, sass, laughter, stories and the love she gave so freely. Her presence will be deeply missed, but the love, prayers and joy she shared will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

She will be forever loved, forever remembered and forever carried in our hearts.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Monday, October 5, 2026 at Tillman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2170 South Military Trail, West Palm Beach, Florida. The Funeral Mass, officiated by Rev. Leonard Dim, will take place at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, Ocotober 6, 2026 at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 6090 Hypoluxo Road, Lake Woth, Florida. Please join the family for a Reception following the Mass at 1:00 pm at the American Polish Club, 4725 Lake Worth Rd, Greenacres, FL.
