Marie Exelia Allmon, 85 of Bellview, FL, passed away on September 13, 2025.
She was born in Norway, Maine in 1940 to Sylvia and Louis Morin. Marie was heavily involved in school activities, such as the Glee Club, Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), and Future Homemakers of America (FHA). Her friends in school described her as “friendly and full of fun, a pleasant smile known by everyone”.
Following high school graduation in 1958, she and best friend, Gloria, left Maine to spend the summer cleaning houses in Palm Beach against the wishes of her parents. As fate would have it, Marie met her future husband, Harold Allmon, that summer in Florida and never looked back.
Marie and Harold went on to be active members of the community, including a bowling league and the CB Radio Club in West Palm Beach, where they were known by their handles, ‘Hammer Man’ and ‘Hammer Lady.’
Despite being busy pillars of their community, Marie and Harold somehow managed to fit in their most ambitious hobby: having and raising seven children – Pam Molloy, Jean Morner, the late Joey Allmon, Donna Blackmon, Harold Allmon (Michelle), Missy Greenlee (Victor), and Holly Davis (Jeff).
The next generation continued the tradition and blessed Marie with 20 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren (plus one on the way), and even 4 great-great grandchildren, who knew her by her favorite title of all, Meme.
She will always be remembered for her famous chicken and dumplings, for Thanksgivings filled with family, and for the joy of gathering everyone under one roof. Whatever name you knew her by, knowing her was a joy. We couldn’t have asked for a better mom and Meme, and she will be missed every day.
She was a proud supporter of the U.S. Military, especially during the service of her grandsons Matthew Blackmon (USMC) and Christopher Davis (USAF). She was equally loyal in the stands, cheering for the Florida Gators, Miami Dolphins, and Miami Marlins.
Marie is preceded in death by her husband (Harold Allmon, Sr), son (Joey Allmon), parents (Louis and Sylvia Morin), and sister (Judy Morin).
The family will receive friends at Tillman Funeral Home, 2170 S. Military Trail, West Palm Beach on Saturday, September 20, 2025 from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM with interment to follow at Memory Gardens Memorial Park in Lake Worth at 12:30 PM.
