Luciano Rito

Luciano Rito, 95, of Lake Worth, Florida passed away at home on June 1, 2025.

Luciano was born in Giarre, Sicily on May 1, 1930. Luciano immigrated to Caracas, Venezuela in 1949 where he joined his brother Gino to seek a better life after the war. The brothers established an auto repair business. Luciano met Ivana and they were married on May 24, 1958. Their daughter, Maria, was born the following year. In 1961 the family moved back to Italy settling in the city of Parma where they lived until they received permission to immigrate to the United States in 1966. Luciano and his family, along with his younger brother Nino, sister-in-law Concettina and niece Vera made the voyage to the US. They settled in Cleveland, Ohio where his parents and his younger brother and sister, Santo and Maria, his grandmother and his extended family lived. He worked as an auto mechanic specializing in European cars. In 1975 he decided to move to South Florida attracted by the beaches and year-round warm weather. He continued working as a mechanic until he retired. Luciano was a talented painter and after retirement he devoted much of his time to perfecting his craft. He continued to paint until his final days. He also enjoyed dancing and traveling and for many years he and Ivana were active member of the local Italian club. His greatest joy was spending time with family and friends especially his grandchildren and more recently his great-grandson.

Luciano was predeceased by his wife, Ivana, in 2020 and his brothers, Gino, Nino and Santo. He is survived by his daughter, Maria (Tom) Valerio, grandchildren Paul (Jennifer) Valerio and Anthony (Stephanie) Valerio; great grandson Gavin Valerio; sister Maria (Biagio) Belfiore; sister in law Connie (John) Pavia; brother in law Carlos (Rossana) Cherubin and many nieces, nephews extended family and friends.

The family will receive friends on Monday, June 9, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Tillman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2170 South Military Trail, West Palm Beach, Florida. A Funeral Service officiated by Rev. Aidan M. Lacy will begin at 12:00 PM at the funeral home on Monday. Luciano will then be laid to rest with his beloved wife Ivana at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Cemetery in Royal Palm Beach, Florida.
