Today we honor, respect, and remember a GREAT man who touched and enriched our lives in so many ways.
Lisauveur Pierre was born on August 24, 1945 in Port-au-Prince, Haiti to parents Morante Pierre and Etimene Yacinthe. Lisauveur was one of two children. Growing up in Haiti was very difficult due to the deaths of both parents by the age of 15. It developed his tough guy and generous persona. He attended school and was a businessman. Lisauveur knew the value of hard work. While in Haiti, Lisauveur had 7 children: Francesca, Patrick, Virginie, Crispin, Marie-Claude, Lordson, and Jean Reynald. He worked hard to provide for his growing family.
Sauveur, as he was affectionately referred to, means savior or to rescue. Which is what he did when he came to the United States of America in 1978 looking for a better life and opportunity for his family. Through hard work, determination, and the love and support of his wife Louise, whom he married in 1989, Sauveur was able to bring over all his children to the USA in addition to the one born here; Elise.
Lisauveur lived across New York before settling in Springfield Gardens. He worked over 27 years at Franklin Hospital in Long Island. Lisauveur was a dedicated employee. He rarely missed work, worked long and hard, and he always made time for his children. He retired in 2010 and purchased a summer home in South Florida, which eventually would be his permanent home.
Sauveur loved to travel with his family to theme parks and on cruises throughout the Caribbean. He especially loved going wherever he could go in his limited-edition Army blue H2 Hummer. He loved driving his car locally or going up and down I-95 between his New York and Florida homes. Sauveur was also a man of God. The most important part of his life was his decision to give his life to the Lord. He always made it a priority to go to church on Sundays in either state and encouraged his family to do so. First thing in the morning, Sauveur would have his Bible open ready to read and to pray. As he was prone to say regarding his family, "I pray for everybody."
Lisauveur was a loving father. He always spoke to his children about the importance of education, working hard, and saving money. He made it a priority to help his children in any way possible. He embraced having his grandchildren around too, be it for a summer month with Robert and Robertson, or on the weekends and no school days with Penelope and Preston. No matter the chaos they would bring, he would heartily ask how soon would they be back? Until his death, Lisauveur's children and grandchildren were on his mind. He wanted to see them grow and do great things in their lives. Lisauveur lived a life full of laughter, love, and good times. He was a very loving and giving man.
Lisauveur loved his wife, Louise. They spent over 40 years loving each other through life’s events. They remained partners, friends, and each other’s home. That kind of love doesn’t just happen—it’s built, day by day, in quiet gestures and unwavering presence.
On March 10, 2026, Lisauveur Pierre, 80 years old passed away peacefully in his home with his wife by his side. He is no longer suffering or in pain and has gone home to be with the Lord.
