Joey’s Obituary
Joseph (Joey) Bradley Youhana, 23, of Sterling, Virginia was called home to God on March 9th,
2021 in a tragic car accident in West Palm Beach, Florida.
Joey was born January 6th, 1998 in West Palm Beach, Florida. He is preceded by his maternal
grandparents, Janice and Wilton Addison, his paternal grandparents, Cyrus and Siran Youhana,
his cousin, Dennis, his beloved dogs Ditka and Gavin, and several close friends. He is survived
by his mother, Dawn Addison Youhana, father and stepmother, Al and Xiaoren Youhana, his sister, Alexis Youhana, his dog, Kodak, and his many aunts, uncles and cousins.
In his early life, Joey enjoyed soccer and played competitively from age 3-13. He was very
involved in taekwondo as well, and received his black belt at age 6! His passion for cars started
as soon as he could talk, which was evident by his calls to his dad every night asking what car
he was bringing home from work that night. As Joey entered his teen years, he found a love of
longboarding, dirtbiking, 4-wheeling, and snowboarding, continuing these hobbies into
adulthood. Joey graduated from Potomac Falls High School in 2016. While he wasn’t a fan of
the academics of school, he thrived in the social aspect of it.
As Joey entered adulthood, he struggled with addiction and mental health disorders. Joey
spent the majority of the last year of his life in Pennsylvania and Florida striving to not only
better his life, but the lives of those he came in touch with. His loved ones are so proud of him
for continuing to fight those internal battles no matter what hurdles he faced.
Above all else, Joey wanted to make a positive difference in the lives of others. He could
easily have a room laughing. He was wise beyond his years. He had a smart mouth and knew
how to push anyone’s buttons, but he also had one of the kindest hearts and always put others
before himself. His love for others was evident in how he cared for his family and friends. If
Joey could make a last wish, it would certainly have been for his loved ones not to think of him
as a victim of this tragic accident, but to remember the laughs you shared, the jokes he told,
and the good times that were had together.
A Memorial Service for Joey will take place at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 20, 2021 in the back parking lot of Riverside Presbyterian Church, 21631 Ridgetop Circle, Sterling, Virginia 20166.
