John Gerard Hamilton, Jr.

John Gerard Hamilton, Jr., age 86, of Lake Worth, Florida passed away on May 30, 2025, Deacon Jack was born in Jersey City, New Jersey on November 22, 1938. He graduated from St. Peter's College with a Bachelors Degree in English and later served in the National Guard from 1962 to 1963. Deacon Jack was ordained a permanent Deacon in the Roman Catholic Church on April 30, 1977. He served as Deacon for many parishes including St. Matthew Catholic Church in Lake Worth, Florida and most recently at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church in West Palm Beach, Florida. Deacon Jack was a 3rd Degree Knights of Columbus. 

Deacon Jack was predeceased by his parents, John and Norma Hamilton; his sons, Timothy Sean Hamilton and Andrew Jerome Hamilton; his sister, Melanie Frances Hamilton; brother, Charles R. Hamilton; aunt, Alva Hamilton. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Barbara L. Hamilton; son, John M. Hamilton; daughters, Dawn M. Conine and Mary C. Tortual; ten grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; sisters, Patricia R. Esposito and Terry M. Zitzman. Deacon Jack will be lovingly remembered by other family members and countless friends who will miss him dearly.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Tuesday, June 3, 2025 at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, 345 South Military Trail, West Palm Beach, Florida. A Funeral Mass celebrated by Rev. Yves Francois will begin at 2:00 PM.
