In Loving Memory of Ida Vizcarrondo, November 8, 1941 - January 28, 2026.

Ida Angelica Vizcarrondo, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, woman of faith, and proud daughter of Puerto Rico, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2026, surrounded by her family in the comfort of her home.

Born on November 8, 1941, in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, Ida was the cherished daughter of Jose Ramos and Sara Muñiz. At the age of nine, she moved to New York, where she began building a life grounded in faith, family, culture, and love.

She is survived by her loving daughter Sarah Vizcarrondo; her grandchildren:

Lisa Velez Rutt, Vanessa Main, Michael Amancio Vizcarrondo, Yvette Vizcarrondo, Anthony Vizcarrondo, Nicole Eigen, Annelise Martinez, Liliana Martinez, Michael Martinez, and Nathaniel Martinez.

She also leaves behind a legacy of love through her great-grandchildren:

Luke Rutt, Destinlee Santiago, Sarah Rutt, Genesis Vizcarrondo, Chasity Rineer, Mikey Vizcarrondo Jr., Jayven Espinosa, AJ Souchet, Kaysen Souchet, Desmond Main, Cindy Souchet, Selah Vizcarrondo, Evan Main, Nina Souchet, Lyanna Vizcarrondo, Shiloh Vizcarrondo, Emerson Souchet, and Ezra Vizcarrondo, as well as her great-great-grandchildren Harper Purcell and Reina Long.

Ida is also lovingly remembered by her extended Crespo family:

Jose Crespo, Amancio Crespo, Esperanza (“Titi”) Crespo, Gloria Crespo, and Paulita Crespo.

Ida was a woman of many gifts. She loved to dance and fill her home with joyful Spanish music. Cooking was her passion. She prepared meals with love, tradition, and her own special secrets that brought family and friends together time and time again. A proud homemaker, she was skilled with her hands, whether decorating, fixing, building, or creating beauty in her home.

She had a deep appreciation for quality, elegance, and craftsmanship, especially in furniture, jewelry, and fashion and she had an eye for sophistication that reflected her inner grace. Her love for Puerto Rico, its people, and its history was unwavering. She instilled pride, cultural identity, strong morals, and a tireless work ethic in her family.

Alongside her husband in ministry for over 30 years, Ida earned a theology certificate as a pastor’s wife. Together they traveled across states and countries in North and South America, planting churches, serving communities, and spreading the gospel. Her faith in the Lord never wavered, even through great loss and hardship. She believed deeply that God is good.

Ida also found joy in gardening, reading, learning, and sharing wisdom, especially about health and caring for family. She adored Christmas and cherished family togetherness above all else. She had a lifelong love for animals, especially cats, and embraced her many fur-grandbabies; Winchester and Chico Star Martinez, Eden, Mochie and Ginger Rutt , Franklin, Petunia and Nayeli Vizcarrondo, Cakey and Gideon Vizcarrondo, Georgie and Cora Main, Luna and Pinocho Vizcarrondo, with endless affection and treats.

On her final day, Ida was surrounded by love, dressed in her favorite bata, listening to her favorite music. She passed peacefully and was joyfully reunited with the Lord Jesus Christ and the loved ones who went before her; her beloved husband Amancio Vizcarrondo (2001), her children Yvette Vizcarrondo (2016) and Michael Vizcarrondo (1994), her granddaughter Michelle Vizcarrondo (2020), her parents Jose Ramos and Sara Muñiz, and her dear sister-in-law and best friend Esperanza Guillen (2022).

Though deeply missed, Ida Angelica Vizcarrondo’s legacy lives on in every life she touched. She will forever remain in our hearts, our memories, and our traditions.
