Frank Malangone

Frank C. Malangone (Poppy), age 92, of West Palm Beach, Florida, passed away February 16, 2022. Frank was born on April 17, 1930, in New Haven, Connecticut. He is survived by his loving wife and companion of 48 years Alice E. Malangone, his Step-children William Mauzey, Fred Mauzey (Kathy), Cheryl Poorman (Norman) and Patricia Palumbo. He will be lovingly remembered by all who considered him Dad. He was Poppy (Grandfather) to Deanna Darling, Carissa Mott, Tom Mauzey, Glenn Mott(Candice), Jonathon Mauzey(Nichol) and Justin Mott(Emily), along with eleven great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren all who affectionately called him Poppy-always with big smiles.

Frank was the youngest of seven siblings who predeceased him; Joe Malangone, Dominic Malangone, Connie Gozzi, Mary Gell, and Jenny Cahoon. Uncle Frank will be lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews.

Frank was a decorated, U.S. Marine Corps veteran. Cpl Frank C. Malangone served in the 1st Tank Battalion, 1st Marine Division in the Korean War. He received the Purple Heart Medal, United Nations Medal, Good Conduct Medal and the Korean Service Medal.

Frank (Poppy)will be remembered by all for his witty, bright sense of humor often accompanied by a twinkle in his eye, the way he often repaired toys for the grandchildren, Sunday brunch, fireworks and his love of social gatherings with family, friends and neighbors. We will all miss him dearly.

Frank will be laid to rest with Military Honors at 10:00 AM on Friday, March 3, 2023 at South Florida National Cemetery in Lake Worth, Florida. Please assemble in Lane #5 by 9:45 AM if attending services at the cemetery.
