Donna Jean Schultetus

November 24, 1936 — January 16, 2026

Donna Jean Burdick Schultetus, 89, passed away peacefully on January 16, 2026, surrounded by her four loving daughters. Donna lived a full and vibrant life marked by devotion to family, generosity and spirit that touched everyone who knew her.

Born on November 24, 1936, in Appleton, Wisconsin, Donna moved to Florida at age 17 with her parents Nellie and Rubert Burdick, and sister Judy, where she built a life of love, family, friendships and purpose. She was a proud wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother—her family was the center of her world.

Donna met Jules P. Schultetus, the love of her life, at a scavenger hunt she attended with her friend Pauline Schultetus. They married in 1957 creating a wonderful life, raising four daughters—Melanie Vincelette (Ray), Carol Graham (Bill), Susan Hunter (Jesse) and Peggy Wilson (Bill) —while also working side by side in their family business, J&J Campers. Their 57 years were enhanced by mutual support and shared adventure. She and Jules were fortunate to travel the United States and world together, enjoying everything from big family reunions to intimate exotic destinations made possible by their hard work and successes at J&J Campers.

Raising four girls, Donna made all the costumes, supported school activities, built homecoming floats and managed the menagerie of animals over the years: dogs, rabbits, horses, chickens, guinea pigs, hamsters, birds, a goat and even a pig. She was an excellent cook and for many years made at least two fresh fruit pies a week to put in everyone’s lunch boxes.

Donna proudly served as a Girl Scout leader, worked at the phone company, Southern Bell, and remained hard-working, even during retirement in Cashiers, North Carolina. She took great pride in decorating for the holidays—especially Halloween—and planned with precision, countless magical and memorable trips to Walt Disney World for her daughters, nieces and nephews. A woman of many talents and interests, Donna was fun-loving, kind-hearted—and really spunky with a unique sense of humor—making every gathering brighter.

Donna was a granny to eight: Connor Vincelette, Kelsey Vincelette McManemin, Julie Graham Brewster, Curt Graham, Shelby Graham Klaus, Jack Graham, Sadie Wilson Karnes and Lily Wilson. She was a great-granny to five: Ella, Levi, Gloria, William and Lucia—all roles she cherished greatly. She enjoyed attending all the birthdays and celebrating milestones, graduations, performances and cheering them on. Her favorite time was with her family—telling stories, sharing laughter, playing games and creating all the memories which will live on for generations.

An avid Green Bay Packers fan, Donna never lost her Wisconsin roots. While there, she was a member of her high school speed ice-skating team and loved fishing and rowing her boat on Lake Winneconne. She enjoyed camping, cooking, baking, knitting, crafting and spending time with friends.

Her memory is now our treasure with her legacy enduring. She is loved beyond words and missed beyond measure. In lieu of flowers, you are welcome to donate to the Girl Scouts of The United States of America, in memory of Donna Schultetus.
