D.J. Pruitt

Donell “DJ” James Pruitt made his way back home to the angels on June 12, 2023 at the age of 44.  Although unexpected, he was surrounded by close family and loved ones at the time of his passing at JFK Hospital in Lake Worth, Florida.  DJ was known for his big personality, enormous heart, and charismatic sense of humor. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his parents Donell “Fester” Pruitt and Sheryl A. Earl; his son Jett James Pruitt; his sisters Shelly Pruitt Mari (Tony) and Candice Earl Norman (Clayton); his nieces Madison Migut (Hunter), McKenzie Migut (Dominick), Miranda Mari; his nephews Beau Norman, Brooks Norman; his grand nephew Declan Mancl; his grand neice Mila Mancl; his girlfriend Jeanie Locy and her son, J.J.; and his mother, Carolyn Vent Malpiedi.

Born in Kankakee, IL on July 31, 1978, DJ moved to Palm Beach County with his family as a young child and was a South Florida resident for most of his adult life. As a lover of music, he graduated from the Connecticut School of Broadcasting in 2003 and worked several years as a special events coordinator for local radio stations. Soon after, DJ joined the family business, Pruitt's Property Management, Inc. in West Palm Beach where he served as a maintenance technician for the last 17 years.
