Dennis J. Costa

November 16, 1946 — September 18, 2021

Dennis J.  Costa died peacefully September 18, 2021, with his lovely wife along his side. He is the beloved husband of Melaney A. Strittmatter-Costa and loving father of Travis Strittmatter (Jordan Russell).  He was survived by his sister Carol Santoro, (Victor Santoro) and nephews, Victor Santoro Jr. and Greg Santoro.   He was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on November 16, 1946, the son of Domenic P. Costa and Gilda Vizzini.

He was a proud patriot, honorably serving with the US Army during the Vietnam War and served in the US Army Reserve as a Command Sergeant Major.  He was an avid golfer.  He had a major impact on many young men’s lives and touched many hearts as a long-time football coach in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

He enjoyed sharing a fine cigar with friends, and many laughs, reminiscing of times gone by. He was a remarkable engineer, never one to retire.  However, at the end of the day, it seemed his favorite thing to do was to spend time with family and his trusted companions, Thor, Dingo, and Ninnins.

Family will receive friends and family on Monday, October 4, 2021, from 2-4PM and 7-9PM at Tillman Funeral Home & Crematory located at 2170 South Military Trail West Palm Beach, Florida 33415.  A Memorial Service will follow on Tuesday, October 5, 2021, at 11:30AM.  A graveside service with military honors will be held following the Memorial Service at South Florida National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, you may donate to Saint Jude Hospital in memory of Dennis Costa.

For those unable to attend, the funeral service will be available for viewing via livestream beginning at 11:15 AM on Tuesday
