Christopher J. Loines, 54, of Melbourne, Fla. passed away on Jan. 11, 2021. Chris was born on July 11, 1966 and grew up in Little Falls, NJ. He earned a BS degree from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical Univ. in Fla. and an MBA in Project Management from Columbia Southern Univ.

Chris had an exciting 22yr. career as a first line manager of the space shuttle launch pad at United Space Alliance/NASA in Cape Canaveral, Fla. He later transitioned to operations and quality control for a military defense contractor at Leonardo DRS in Melbourne, Fla. He was highly accomplished at his craft and immensely regarded in his unique and interesting career.

Chris is survived by his wife Naoko Loines, step daughters-Mimy D. Kincaid, Lana A. Kincaid, parents- James B. Loines, Barbara S. Loines, sister- Shannon I. Loines-Masur and husband David Masur, nieces- Samantha, Jessica, Sydney and nephew Christopher.

Chris was passionate about fitness and loved sports. He was an avid weight lifter and stellar runner who ran many triathlons and marathons, including the Boston Marathon twice.

Loving words from Chris' stepdaughter Lana, "All I can think of is how you never gave up. You advocated for the underdog and loved with no question. You loved me as your own even before we became family. You were a good balance of hard work, compassion, common sense and perseverance. You explored the world uninhibited, unconstrained and never apologized for expressing yourself and living your life. You were there when one least deserved it and in some weird way you're here, still. I'm without a doubt exceptionally lucky to have known such an enlivening soul."

A memorial service will be planned for a later date.
