Bernadette (Almeida) Ramos
Bernadette (Almeida) Ramos, 72, of West Palm Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with leiomyosarcoma. Born in Yonkers, NY in 1953 to Mary and Mario Almeida, Bernadette grew up surrounded by the strength, humor, and traditions of her beloved Portuguese family—a heritage she carried proudly throughout her life.
Bernadette built a long and successful career in technology sales and marketing, where she was known not only for her sharp mind but also for her determination, warmth, and ability to bring people together. She served on numerous boards and offered her time, talent, and leadership generously—always with humility, always with heart.
But Bernadette’s greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her devoted husband, Albano Henrique Ramos, and her daughters, Deana and Christine, who were the light of her life. She was the loving sister of Richard, Anthony, David, Mario, Dennis, and George, and the adored grandmother of Alexander, Christian, Vivienne, and Benjamin, who brought endless excitement, silliness, and purpose to her days.
Bernadette was a grandmother in the fullest, most joyful sense of the word—volunteering at their school, even dressing up as the mascot, traveling with them, cheering from every sideline, and making every holiday, every milestone, and even ordinary days feel extraordinary. Every year, she and her grandchildren baked trays of cookies and delivered them to local fire and police departments—a tradition that embodied her servant’s heart and her belief in showing appreciation wherever she went.
She had an adventurous spirit and a gift for making friends anywhere in the world. Whether traveling abroad, celebrating at Portuguese festivals, or enjoying life between her two homes—one in the sun of West Palm Beach and one in the warmth of Portugal—Bernadette brought joy, laughter, and sincerity into every room she entered.
She was the person you called first—because she would show up, because she would get the job done, because with her, nothing was impossible. To her many godchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, she was a steady, loving presence who gave of herself endlessly. Her loss will be felt deeply by every life she touched.
In keeping with what mattered most to Bernadette, the family kindly requests that, in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to organizations close to her heart: Sari Center, Making Headway Foundation, and Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
Her legacy of love, strength, service, and unshakable optimism will live on in all those who were blessed to know her.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, December 20th, 2025 at 5:30 PM at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 13591 Prosperity Farms Road, Palm Beach Gardens, FL 33410 with Reverend Aidan M. Lacy Celebrant.
