Dorothy I. Deamud

Dorothy Irene Brown Deamud was born at home in Kalamazoo, MI on October 26, 1919 to Iva Marie Clark Brown and Evert N. Brown. Dorothy passed on Tuesday, September 1, 2015 in Winter Park, FL; two months shy of her 96th birthday. During her career Dorothy had worked for several local shops, then worked at Prudential Insurance and retired as Administrative Assistant to the Director of Adult Education, Palm Beach County School Board. Preceding her in death were her husband, Wilder Samuel Deamud, Jr., her infant son, her mother and father, and her only sibling Robert E. Brown. Surviving are sons James Robert (Tina) Deamud of Houghten, MI, John Wilder (Linda) Deamud, of Orlando, FL, Jerry Martin (Sharon) Deamud of West Palm Beach, FL. Also surviving are grandchildren David Wilder (Jennifer) Deamud, Christopher Karl (Jill) Deamud, Cassandra Elizabeth Deamud, Dawn Marie Deamud, Michelle Lynn (Thomas) McNabb and great grandchildren Kristin and Jacob, Abigail, Bradley and Katelyn. Also surviving is Chris Reid, a special friend who Dorothy loved as a daughter. Dorothy and Wilder were married on September 28, 1940 when they eloped to Toledo, OH. Wilder was a career Army officer with duty stations in Europe during WWII, Korea and Germany as well as many in the United States. During 1962 Dorothy and Wilder moved to Lantana, FL where they purchased their first home and where they lived until 1987. They then moved to the West Palm Beach area. Wilder passed in 1989 and Dorothy remained in their home until 2006. After residing at an Assisted Living Facility in Lantana, FL she moved to the Orlando area in March 2010 to be closer to family. She lived in an Assisted Living Facility in Winter Park, FL until her passing, September 1, 2015.
